Tottenham have received sporting approval to begin formal negotiations and believe personal terms would not create a major obstacle, sources close to the agents industry have informed CaughtOffside. Spurs have made initial approaches worth between £50 million and £55 million, with the Turkish champions seeking closer to £65 million. Galatasaray want closer to £65m to sell the 27-year-old.
Tottenham Hotspur appear to have taken the lead in the race to sign Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray. According to Caught Offside and Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Spurs are interested in signing Osimhen, whose contract at Rams Park expires in June 2029. The Nigerian almost joined Chelsea during the summer of 2024, but a deal collapsed at the eleventh hour, so he joined Galatasaray on an initial loan instead. The following summer, the Super Lig champions forked out €75m (£64m) to sign the Nigerian permanently, making him the most expensive signing in Turkish football history.
The Nigerian international scored 41 goals and provided 10 assists across 52 appearances for the Turkish giants last season, numbers that explain why De Zerbi supposedly views him as a transformative signing.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Atlético Madrid have also been linked with the Galatasaray star, which could push the price higher and weaken Tottenham’s negotiating position.
