Levi Colwill has not made Chelsea’s squad for the second pre-season game in a row after missing the 1-0 defeat to Juventus this week.

Xabi Alonso’s side have suffered back-to-back defeats in their pre-season tour as they were beaten by Tottenham Hotspur last weekend before their 1-0 loss to Juventus in Hong Kong on Wednesday. An underwhelming 1-0 defeat to Juventus on Wednesday followed a defeat to Tottenham last weekend, meaning new manager Xabi Alonso will keep on tweaking his methods in a bid to start building momentum ahead of the new Premier League season.

Cole Palmer returns for Chelsea after missing the defeat to Juventus due to a minor knock but Levi Colwill is absent once again. ‘Yes, they had a few, not injuries… discomforts. Cole with a whack and Levi as well, so no point to take today’s risk and hopefully they will be fine for Saturday,’ Xabi Alonso said on Wednesday.

Amorim lines up in his familiar 3-4-2-1, with Leão and Ruben Loftus-Cheek supporting teenager Francesco Camarda, and Modrić anchoring midfield. Gonçalo Ramos and Christopher Nkunku, both on target in the Perth derby, drop to the bench, alongside Fikayo Tomori and Ardon Jashari. Ruben Loftus-Cheek starts against his former club Chelsea today. Ex-Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori and Christopher Nkunku, who spent two seasons at Stamford Bridge, are both on the bench for AC Milan.

Roma target Jamie Gittens is named among the substitutes.

MILAN (3-4-2-1): Torriani; F. Terracciano, De Winter, Pavlović; Chukwueze, Modrić, Comotto, Estupiñán; Loftus-Cheek, Leão; Camarda. CHELSEA (4-2-3-1): Sánchez; Palestra, W. Fofana, Acheampong, Hato; Caicedo, Lavia; Pedro Neto, Palmer, Welbeck; João Pedro.
