Sandro Tonali was at the heart of the action during Tottenham Hotspur's behind-closed-doors 1-1 draw to against Getafe on Saturday.
Conor Gallagher scored as Tottenham drew 1-1 with Getafe in a shortened behind-closed-doors friendly on Saturday, still missing several key players.
Getafe had taken the lead 15 minutes from time when young Spanish midfielder Alberto Risco played a one-two with Francisco ‘Curro’ Burgos before firing past Antonin Kinsky. The home side came close to clinching the match late on, with Richarlison's header saved by Getafe goalkeeper David Soria.
After Sandro Tonali played a forward pass to Richarlison, Gallagher found himself running through on goal. The midfielder took one touch with the outside of his right boot and then rifled the ball into the bottom left corner. Although the game finished 1-1, it means Spurs are yet to be beaten in pre-season having played five matches so far, with Gallagher a constant in the side over the past few weeks.
Getafe are renowned for their rough-house approach and showed little sign of abating during the 70-minute encounter, which was played behind closed doors at Tottenham's training ground and proved anything but a routine pre-season friendly. In one instance, Sandro Tonali, who joined Tottenham for £100million this summer from Newcastle, was left incensed by a challenge from Mario Martin. That caused a melee in the centre of the pitch, as players from both teams swamped around the two players. Tonali and Martin avoided a booking for the incident.
