The draw for the second round of the Carabao Cup has been completed, with 11 Premier League sides, including Chelsea, Newcastle and Leeds, entering the competition. Ties will be played the week commencing August 24, with matches going straight to penalties if they finish level after 90 minutes.
Chelsea have been drawn to face Luton Town in the Carabao Cup, while Tottenham will host Charlton in the standout fixtures of the second round. Both Chelsea and Spurs have entered the domestic cup competition earlier than usual due to not having any European commitments after finishing tenth and 17th in the Premier League last season. And they have been paired at home to lower league opposition, meaning they will be hoping to avoid a major cup upset as the second round of the competition takes place the week commencing August 24.
Spurs' match against Charlton will be the two clubs' first meeting since 2011 when the top-flight club eased to a 3-0 victory in the third round of the FA Cup thanks to a 49th-minute opener from Andros Townsend and a quickfire double from Jermain Defoe.
Newcastle, who won the competition in 2025, have been drawn against West Brom at St James' Park.
