MICKY VAN DE VEN has handed Tottenham a huge boost by signing a new contract with the club. The Dutchman's current deal expired in three years but he and Spurs have agreed fresh terms until 2031. Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven says it is "clear the direction the club wants to go in" after signing a new long-term deal with Spurs.
BBC Sport understands Van de Ven was considering his future in north London before the appointment of Roberto de Zerbi in March, which proved crucial in the 25-year-old's decision to extend his stay in north London. Van de Ven was linked with an exit last season but has chosen to stay in north London after becoming a key player and leader under De Zerbi.
