Inter are increasingly confident of signing Curtis Jones, with the Liverpool midfielder edging closer to a move to San Siro.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Inter have maintained Jones as their priority midfield target since May and now believe a deal with Liverpool could be completed for around €35 million. 🚨⚫️🔵 Inter mantain Curtis Jones as priority target since May and now feel deal could happen with Liverpool at €35m fee. Jones has remained high on Inter’s midfield shortlist throughout the summer, but their attempts to bring the England international to San Siro have been complicated by Liverpool’s valuation and the need to first create space in Cristian Chivu’s squad. Jones has been a fixed target for Cristian Chivu since May, and despite the many complications in the dialogue with Liverpool, who had knocked Inter back in January, the mood has turned optimistic. Sport Witness have covered how an initial offer has been made for the Liverpool player. This was rejected by the Reds, who have demanded over €30m.

The key remains Frattesi. The decisive move, however, has not yet come, and the reason is simple: Inter must first offload Davide Frattesi.

Inter would want to earn a package worth €25m and this would then be used to corner Liverpool for Jones. The Nerazzurri are not yet ready to submit their next official offer because they first want Frattesi to leave.

New coach Andoni Iraola has made clear he rates Jones highly and would happily keep him, and the Reds value the 25-year-old closer to €40m. Corriere believe the Reds want €40m, despite Jones’ current deal running out in 2027. But with the midfielder entering the final year of his contract, and the threat of losing him for nothing in 2027, the gap between the clubs may prove easier to bridge as the window ticks down.
