Liverpool have agreed a five-year shirt sponsorship deal with Turkish Airlines worth more than £300 million, with the airline's branding set to appear on the front of the club's men's, women's and academy match kits from the 2027-28 season.
The arrangement takes effect on 1 June 2027 and draws a line under a 17-year association with Standard Chartered as the club's primary front-of-shirt partner. Liverpool believe the deal — worth in excess of £60 million per season — is the most valuable of its kind in Premier League history, though Manchester United have asserted their current arrangement with Snapdragon is also worth more than £60 million a year.
Standard Chartered's existing contract with the club is believed to be worth around £50 million per season. The bank will not sever ties entirely: from June 2027 it will continue its association with Liverpool in a global partner capacity. A separate arrangement with Japan Airlines, due to expire in May 2027, has not changed.
Turkish Airlines, which flies to more countries than any other airline in the world and is regarded as the world's fourth largest carrier, has previously held commercial agreements with Manchester United, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund — though none in a front-of-shirt or main club partner role. Standard Chartered had a window of exclusivity to renew its agreement with Liverpool that expired last year.
The announcement comes at a moment of considerable commercial momentum for the club, which posted record revenues of £703 million in the financial year ending 31 May 2025. Fenway Sports Group, Liverpool's owner, is also in line to sell a 38% stake to 1892 Holdings — a consortium led by Amit Bhatia that includes Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin — for £2 billion.
Turkish Airlines CEO Ahmet Olmustur said: "Liverpool Football Club is one of the world's most recognised and respected football clubs, with an exceptional heritage and a truly global community of supporters. We are very pleased that Turkish Airlines will become the Club's Main Club Partner and that our name will take its place on one of the most iconic shirts in world sport."
Ben Latty, Liverpool's chief commercial officer, spoke of the special place the front of the club's shirt holds in its history and referenced the foundations already in place with Turkish Airlines — an allusion to Liverpool's comeback win over AC Milan in Istanbul in 2005. He described Standard Chartered's contribution across the past 17 years as extraordinary and confirmed the bank would remain part of the club's commercial family from June 2027.
Liverpool's sleeve sponsorship, currently held by Expedia and worth between £9 million and £12 million per season, is also due for renewal.
