Hull City owner Acun Ilicali has revealed his club's summer transfer agenda and updates in a startlingly honest post. Ilicali - known as a somewhat maverick owner - listed 14 transfers that the newly promoted Premier League side are working on this window.
The Tigers are back in the Premier League for the first time in nine years and want to add to their squad this summer. Hull have made three signings so far, bringing in defender Matt Targett, goalkeeper Jack Butland and midfielder Oscar Zambrano. Butland, Targett and Zambrano were all listed with a green tick by them, but underneath were 11 unnamed players.
Hull are set to complete the signing of international midfielder Hidemasa Morita on a free transfer, talkSPORT understands. The 31-year-old is available after leaving Sporting Lisbon at the end of last season. Target No4 was listed as a Japan flag with 99 per cent by it and is likely a nod to midfielder Hidemasa Morita being set to join as a free agent. There was also a Greek flag that indicated a huge deal is “90%” done – and that is surely for Olympiacos’ highly-rated goalkeeper Konstantis Tzolakis, who SunSport understands is set to move to the MKM Stadium for £17m once his club find a new No1.
Hull are one of several clubs considering a move for the 29-year-old, talkSPORT understands. Fellow promoted outfit Ipswich Town and MLS side Atlanta United are also interested.
Ilicali also listed 11 other players whose deals are purportedly at various stages of completion, ranging from 60 to 99 per cent. The Tigers were promoted after Oli McBurnie scored a 95th-minute winner in the Championship play-off final against Middlesbrough. They have pre-season friendlies against Turkish trio Konyaspor, Rizespor, and Kasimpasa before assignments against Eintracht Frankfurt and Nice. A home clash against Manchester United awaits on their return to the Premier League on August 22.
