The Spanish giants have already had a £85.4m (€100m) bid rejected for the 19-year-old but Leipzig want significantly more to let him go. Real have now also agreed personal terms with Diomande.

While DIomande is said to have agreed to join PSG, Real Madrid are now said to be making a move, with David Ornstein reporting on X: "EXCL: Real Madrid enter race to sign Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig. #RMFC in club-to-club talks with #RBLeipzig over winger. Paris Saint-Germain retain interest + 19yo chose #PSG as next destination but not yet at level of finance required." Diomande had previously indicated a preference to join Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer and agreed a contract with them until 2031. The report indicates that Real have agreed a contract running until at least 2031 with Diomande, while Leipzig continue to hold out for in excess of €100million (£85million) to finalise any arrangement.

With six weeks left of the transfer window, the situation has been described as an open race by sources close to any potential deal.

Diomande's profile raised even further during the World Cup, when he impressed with Ivory Coast, and many expect the 19-year-old to be the next winger superstar, already climbing towards the top level at his young age. Leipzig chief Marcel Schafer has said of the winger: “He’s a left winger with outstanding pace, strong dribbling, athleticism and a real eye for goal. On top of that, he never gives up on a ball and plays with great team spirit.”

Arsenal are looking into a potential deal for Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior. Vinicius Jr is one of a number of forward targets Arsenal are exploring, with Julian Alvarez, Diomande and Bradley Barcola also players of interest. A recent report in The Telegraph claimed, however, that new Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has made his position crystal clear to club bosses, insisting he wants Vinicius to stay put and would be firmly against the winger completing a transfer to Arsenal.
