- Liverpool have reached an agreement in principle over personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, according to L'Équipe.
The France international has green-lit a move to Anfield following direct talks with head coach Andoni Iraola. However, the two clubs must still negotiate a transfer fee, with PSG expected to demand well in excess of €100 million. Despite that, PSG are reportedly holding out for a fee of €170m.
Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has reported on X: "Liverpool have already opened talks with Bradley Barcola’s camp and Paris Saint-Germain. Barcola is now Liverpool’s top transfer target. The Reds are determined to sign him before Deadline Day. ##LFC The deal is complicated and will largely come down to the financial package."
With just two years left on his contract in Paris, Barcola has more leverage than ever. He’s decided he wants to go and play in a team where he’s the star, rather than being first reserve being PSG’s incredible first choice attacking trio. Crucially, “the opportunity to join Liverpool is said to appeal to the player.” Bailey has also reported that Barcola views Liverpool as his preferred destination.
Liverpool, who appointed Andoni Iraola as their manager earlier this summer, are ready to pay €110 million for the winger upfront. The report has added: ‘The structure of the deal also includes performance-based bonuses, with an additional €20 million tied to domestic league success and a further €20 million linked to Champions League achievements.’ However, we understand that it would still fall short of PSG’s valuation of Barcola, with last season’s Ligue 1 and Champions League winners looking for €170m (£146m, $194m) for the winger.
